Family Day-Trip

My sister in-law and her husband Etienne Viljoen requested us to join them on an extensive day-trip. They reside in Ifafi, Hartebeestpoort  dam and me and my wife resides in Centurion Pretoria . The reason for involving us is to allow their two sons pillion with us. Etienne bought a beautiful KTM  990 full house with R60 000 of extras. My wife has a low suspension BMW1200GS and myself a BMW1200GS Adventure. The plan was that Etienne will pillion my sister in law Adri, my wife the youngest son, Keanu  of 10 years  and myself the older boy of 16, Janaldo. We left our house in Centurion at 06:30, arrived in  Hartebeespoort  at 07:45 after enjoying the N14 and R511. We departed for Devon via Delmas with the three big story-bikes. At the Devon Abattoir we bought biltong and other meat. Next we stopped on the bridge crossing the Vaal river that led to Deneysville to show the boys the river, much bigger than Hartebeespoort they are use too. Thereafter we proceeded to Vaaldam  the well-known bike museum in Deneysville via Heidelberg.  After a late breakfast
(brunch) we departed back home via the N3, R24, R21, N14 and R511. We stopped at the Engen One-Stop on the R21 for a milkshake and to stretch our legs, by now the boys were a bit tired and the bums not used to this distance. We had an enjoyable time on the bikes. When we parked at our home in Centurion after we had done 588 km for the day. The KTM got 15km/l the GS of my wife 19.60km/l and my Adventure 17.24. Our travelling speed was 140. My wife and I ride for the Christian Motorcyclists Association.
